Banjo Kazooie Beta Compositions
Treasure Trove Cove BETA
Here is the original Treasure Trove Cove piece. This was in Banjo Kazooie from very early on, but towards the end of the game, it was decided it didn't quite fit. I had to rewrite the music, and came up with the tune that you all know from the game. A very big thanks to Adam Vierra (alias coolboyman) for taking my midi files and plugging them into the Banjo ROM.
Prickly Pear Island/Ice/Snow BETA
I recently cam across this tune, whilst looking for something else. It was called "Ice.mid", and I was not quite sure what it was. Even though I couldn't hear it, when I looked at the music, I recognised the beginning. It was originally written for a level called "Prickly Pear Island", for the game "Dream". This version seems to be one of my early ideas for a snow/ice level in "Banjo Kazooie". This is way before "Freezeezy Peak" ever existed. I am sure you will be able to hear elements from a few games in the music, can you spot them?
Freezeezy Peak BETA
Here is the BETA to Freezeezy Peak. I remember, when I was writing this, Tim Stamper wanted me to have an extended melody , that ran over the normal eight bars. So, this was my first attempt at this area. I really liked the opening marimba melody, but I didn't think that the rest of the piece had enough of a wintery feel to it, as well as a Christmassy element. You can hear one of the melodies that ended up in the final version, in this piece. Once again, thanks to @coolboyman for his help in getting this midi file to run on the original Banjo ROM, so it uses all the original instruments. Hope you enjoy listening to it!
